Resolution III - Expressing and Endorsing our Republican Principles
Whereas, we support the Constitution of the United States and the Constitution of the State of Wisconsin, and

Whereas, we take strength from our Republican principles of personal responsibility, self reliance, smaller government and less taxes to shape our future into one that empowers people to reach their full potential, understanding that they, not government, can best determine their own destiny, and
Whereas, we believe in reducing the amount of government taxation placed on the citizens of our state and nation so that people can decide how to spend their money, not government, and
Whereas, we call upon our governments at all levels to spend within their means and find ways to reduce the costs of running our government
Whereas, we believe that the best way to maintain a strong middle class is to create a vibrant economy that supports existing and encourages new businesses by removing the barriers of excessive government taxation and regulation on the private sector economy and job creators. Allow people of all incomes to keep more of their hard earned money and allow them to be responsible for it and we believe that individuals and our economy as a whole will far exceed what government interference can accomplish, and
Whereas, we recognize that the Wisconsin farmers, as individual entrepreneurs, have built the economy of this state and can continue to do so through a pro-growth farm policy, reasonable regulation, and an equitable tax and fee policy, and
Whereas, we will hold true to our values and traditions that strengthen families, encourage moral character, defend the institution of marriage as a union between one man and one woman and protect the innocent and the unborn, and
Whereas, we will defend our right to protect ourselves, our families and our homes as well as our right to keep and bear arms, and
Whereas, we support managed legal immigration, but seek the securing of our borders against illegal aliens and that, except for emergency humanitarian aid, illegal aliens should not be extended government taxpayer subsidized benefits, aids or services that are intended for legal citizens, and
Whereas, we believe that we all have the responsibility to financially support a quality public education system but also believe that all families regardless of income should, have the ability to send their children to the schools of their choice and be allowed to receive a partial tax credit if their children do not attend a public school, and

Whereas, we respect and support America’s role as the sole super power and believe we have been blessed as a nation with the ability to provide security, liberty and freedom to people all across the globe, and
Whereas, we have great respect and pride in our fellow citizens and their families who have volunteered to be a part of our military and offer them our full support both while they actively serve and when they return home, and
Whereas, we will take it as our duty to protect the validity of the electoral process via a photo identification requirement and the elimination of same day registration, and
Whereas, we support the right of U.S. citizens to freely express their political opinions through their financial contributions, with full, prompt disclosure. We insist that neither employers nor unions should force individuals to contribute to political causes against their will. We oppose public taxpayer financing of all campaigns, and Whereas, we will remain good stewards of the land, while safeguarding our private property rights and understanding that human beings are part of our environment, and
Whereas, we are committed to maintaining a high quality private market health care system in Wisconsin and in America. We have the right to contract privately for health care services and health insurance coverage. We should not be required by our government to obtain or maintain insurance coverage or participate in any specific health care system or plan. We insist on a fair and balanced legal system to prevent undue insurance liability on all health care professionals. We encourage laws and regulations that encourage consumer involvement and open competition for the purchase of health insurance and health care, including allowing for Health Savings Accounts, and for volume purchasing and health care risk pools for Wisconsin businesses and the self-employed, and
Whereas, we are committed to maintaining the highest standard of ethics and integrity for all of our citizens including our elected officials. We expect all public officials and party officials to place public service ahead of personal gain, and
Whereas, we respect and pledge allegiance to our nation’s flag and wear and fly it proudly because we are proud to be American’s. We are not concerned that our display of the flag may offend those how do not like our nation, and
Whereas, we know that America has been blessed by God and we support maintaining the phrase “one nation under God” in our pledge and the phrase “In God we trust” on our currency.
Therefore, be it resolved that the Republican Party of Sheboygan County in caucus assembled January 29, 2010 express our support and endorse the above mentioned principles and believe that they will lead our state and our nation into a new era of prosperity, innovation, opportunity and true freedom for all.
