Recently, I had a nice gentleman come to my door to discuss his candidacy for the Sheboygan School Board. As I listened to his reasons for running, I found a connection with him and many reasons to vote for him.

Plain and simple, Roger Oliver is running to restore academic excellence. He doesn’t want to focus on what divides us; he wants to unite us. Roger is a fresh voice, a community leader and longtime educator. He has the experience to get things done.

Roger will focus on academics. Instead of going along with the status quo, he isn’t afraid to be an independent voice. We should not be watering down academic standards but holding our academics to the highest of standards.

Roger doesn’t have decades of experience in local government, but years of experience on the frontlines of education. He has years of experience as an educator. He even founded and ran a learning center for many years.

Roger is a proud husband, father and grandfather. He even has children who work in the public school system as teachers. He served his country in the military and still teaches economics classes to students virtually. He is also involved with a local nonprofit.

I hope you join me in supporting Roger Oliver for Sheboygan School Board.
